First Baptist Church of Lomita

On Sunday May, 8^th, 2022 (Mother's Day) there will be no evening prayer service.

We will resume our 5:00 PM prayer meeting next Sunday.

This Sunday, March 13^th2022, there will be no evening service. We will be sharing a fellowship lunch together after the morning service, which Joe Cinquina will be guest preaching.

Pastor Miller's funeral will be held on Saturday, January 22^nd, 2022.

The memorial service will be at 10:00 AM at the church. The burial will follow at 12:30 PM at Green Hills Mortuary (masks are required at the burial site). Lunch will follow at 1:30 PM, back at the church.

We plan to record and livestream the memorial service on our YouTube channel for the benefit of anyone who cannot attend in person.

Due to Pastor Miller's passing, we will not be meeting for Sunday School until further notice.

After decades of faithful service to the Lord Jesus Christ, Pastor James Miller went home to be with the Lord last night, Saturday, January 8^th 2022. We will miss him dearly, and mourn his passing. Funeral plans have not been made yet.

We will not be having Wednesday night Bible study this week (January 12^th), but, we plan to resume the following week. We will continue to gather for our normal Sunday morning service at 11:00 AM. Updates to follow concerning 9:45 AM Sunday school and the Sunday 5:00 PM evening service.

1^stThessalonians 4:13-14 "But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him."

We will be having our first fellowship meal of 2022 on next Sunday, January 9^th at 5:30 PM.

As planned, we restarted Sunday School today for both adults and children at 9:45 AM.

The adults had a great class today discussing how to address Mormonism biblically.

There will be no Wednesday night service this week (December 22^nd).

The Lord willing, we will be starting adult's and children's Sunday School classes beginning on January 2^nd, 2022 at 9:45 AM.

The Adult Sunday School class will be taught by Pastor Miller. We will be going over the topic of "Cults" and how we can address them biblically.

Come join us on Sunday evenings at 5 PM for a gospel preaching service where you can invite those who may not know the Lord. A brother or sister from the congregation will be sharing their testimony each week.
